US stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the financials, Technology and consumer discretionary sectors led shares higher. At the close of the NYSE, the DJIA rose 0.04% while the S&P 500 index gained 0.19%, and the NASDAQ Composite index advanced 0.35%. Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones on the NYSE by 2,181 to 1,128 and 177 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2,706 advanced and 1,593 declined, while 186 ended unchanged. During the last trading session, the FSSTI index fell 4.53pt to 3,157.97. Among the top active stocks were MM2 Asia (+2.8%), Thai Beverage (+0.7%), Singapore Press Holdings (+0.6%), Jiutian Chemical (+1.1%) and Singapore Airlines (+0.6%).
