US stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the energy, health and industrials sectors led shares higher. At the close of the NYSE, the DJIA rose 0.37% while the S&P 500 index gained 0.28%, and the NASDAQ Composite index advanced 0.14%. Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones on the NYSE by 2,132 to 1,125 and 181 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2,738 advanced and 1,617 declined, while 222 ended unchanged. During the last trading session, the FSSTI index rose 1.00pt to 3,088.84. Among the top active stocks were Sembcorp Marine (+1.2%), Singtel (+0.9%), Genting Singapore (+0.7%), ISDN (-0.8%) and APAC Realty (+6.0%). The FTSE ST Mid Cap index was up 0.6% while the FTSE ST Small Cap Index advanced 1.7%. The broader market saw 270 gainers and 185 losers with total trading value of S$1.17b.
